Droid 2 Global GSM bands locked, camera bulge added to case

19 November 2010 One Comment

While to the shock of the many of the Verizon customers, an unannounced surprise awaited DROID 2 Global customers, who found that their mobiles were locked for GSM radios. This means that AT & T SIM cards will not do any tricks in DROID 2 Global editions.

This, of course, has left lot of work and news to be released from the enterprise xda hackers who will be working actively in unlocking the phone.

Meanwhile, yet another surprise that crept in were the finding of a hump in the camera module, which was supported with a bulge in the case to fit the phone better, while the hump still remains to be unrevealed. Some of the suggestions are that this could be an extra radio or a better sensor for the camera.

On the whole, DROID 2G owners will be tied up with Verizon.

Thanks for those info. I’m still trying to justify buying a Droid phone.
