Call of Duty: Black Ops smashes one-day sales record

12 November 2010 No Comment

Activision states on Thursday that Call of duty: Black Ops have sold out 5.6 million copies in 24 hours from its launch. This is the biggest entertainment launch ever and breaks the previous record of 4.7 million copies of Activision’s Call of duty: Modern Warfare2 last year.

Activision’s CEO Bobby Kotick states that there has never been another consecutive entertainment launch opening day record and Black ops is targeting on the last year’s 5 day sales record of $550 million.

Activision holds the record of one day sales which was around $360 million which makes to wonder either 5.6 million people were craze about call of duty or just they want to play a game.
